Decluttering Goals? Let’s Tame the Chaos Together!

Whew—what a start to the year!

I survived the holidays, my husband heading out of town right after, and two January birthdays for my kiddos. It was magical, and…

It's been a whirlwind! 😵‍

But three of the four kids are finally back in school, and you know what?

I’m ready to breathe, reset, and reclaim some calm around here.

One thing I’ve been tackling this month is the clutter that snuck in over the holidays.

You know what I’m talking about: Christmas crafts, letters to Santa, and the mountain of keepsakes I couldn’t bring myself to toss just yet.

3 Tips to Tame the Keepsake Chaos

Because I know I’m not the only one facing the post-holiday paper piles, I’ve put together some quick tips to help you tackle your own keepsake clutter:

1. What to Keep vs. What to Toss

Not everything needs to stay. These two questions can help you decide.

Ask yourself…

>> Does this item have a special story or memory tied to it?

>> Is it something my child would love to look back on someday?

Save items like…

>> Artwork that makes your heart melt

>> Report cards or certificates they’ll be proud of later

>> Notes or crafts with sentimental value

Toss generic worksheets, broken ornaments, or duplicates — guilt-free!

2. Declutter in 15-Minute Bursts

You don’t need hours to make progress.

Set a timer for 15 minutes and…

>> Sort through one stack of papers

>> Organize keepsakes for one child

>> Insert labels on a few folders in your Memory Kit

Small steps really add up!

3. Let The School Years Memory Kit Do the Hard Work

Our School Years Memory Kit has been a total lifesaver for me. I’ve got four kids, and each one has their own set of folders, even my toddler.

Now I have a spot for everything—from the glitter-covered reindeer art project to the “Most Improved Reader” certificate.

And it feels so good knowing it’s all organized and safe in their memory boxes.

This kit makes organizing so simple:

>> Pre-labeled folders for every year mean you always know where to put special mementos

>> Add the clear keepsake box, and you’ll have everything neatly stored in one spot—no more piles of paper on your kitchen counter! (And yes, they do stack!)

Let’s turn clutter into calm in 2025.

Get your own School Years Memory Kit today and start organizing all those treasures in just a few minutes a week.

And come February, you’ll know just where to put those sweet (and sticky) handmade Valentine’s cards. No matter how much dry pasta and confetti are pasted to them. 🤷‍♀️

Cheering you on, Mama!
